University & biodiversity research

We're collaborating with esteemed institutions like Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, SRM University, Dr. MGR Fisheries University, Women's Christian College, and C. Abdul Hakeem Art & Science College for data collection and research work. Identifying over 120 different species in a short time shows the rich ecological potential of the area — invaluable for future conservation efforts and sustainable practices. We've involved experts including Dr. Aswathy Rajan, Dr. Govindan, Dr. Ganesh, and Kalinga Foundation for different studies.

MFI plays an important role protecting the Pulicat Lake environment and wetland forests, working with NGOs, CBOs, and state and central government institutions to create livelihood opportunities and prevent environmental damage.

Mobilising government schemes ensures marginalized communities access healthcare, education, housing, and livelihoods — building grassroots development and trust with government institutions.

Relief Activities — 4,000 Families

After recent storms and severe flooding, we distributed rice bags to 3,000 families in 27 Pulicat coastal and lake villages whose homes and livelihoods were badly affected.
